Maternity Photo Shoot - Greenwich, London, SE10

I was contacted by Anne who was interested in booking in a Bump to Baby Photography Package. She didn't particularly have many thoughts on what she wanted for her pregnancy photos, but living in Greenwich it really didn't matter as this historic part of London provides one of my favourite locations for any maternity, children's or family photo session.

I arrived at their house on a beautiful summer's day and we immediately headed out so that we could beat the (majority) of crowds and tourists. As we made our way towards Greenwich Park stopping by various stunning local architectural splendours. The Queen's House with it's collonades looking up to The Royal Observatory provide a great backdrop to any photograph.

We slowly made our way up the hill taking various opportunities to grab photographs of Anne, both by herself with her bump, as well as several with her husband, Ian. Greenwich Park gives great opportunities to get a huge range of photographs, one moment it seems like you're in the middle of the countryside and if you turn in the opposite direction, you realise that you are overlooking one of the World's finest cities as the view takes in The Queen's House, The Royal Naval Hospital, The Thames and a busy modern city skyline of the city. We even wandered around the rose garden which was full of colour - and I always love a floral splash in the foreground of my photographs.

We then made our way back down the hill, past the hordes of tourists towards central Greenwich, where Anne and Ian live. Before returning to their house, Ian requested that we headed down one of his favourite little alleyways of Greenwich (see the above picture) - I have never been down this tiny old back street of London, but it was a special place for them and a beautiful historical location for a photograph.

Once back at their house, they had a couple of requests for photographs - one of these was of the pair of them on their sofa, a place where Ian would regularly read to the bump. Their favourite book was "Click Clack Moo - Cows That Type" - a lovely intimate moment that really makes for photographs that are really personal.

We got a number of other photos before the session ended, including one that we can then put together with a photo once baby has arrived to make a pre and post baby photo.

I can't wait to meet their little baby, which is due in a week or so.
