1st Birthday Party and Cake Smash - Balham

It was lovely to be asked to come along and do the photography for Lyla's 1st birthday. I had done her newborn photos last year and it is always great to see how children have grown and are developing their young characters.

The party was held at Hagen & Hyde in Balham and before friends and relatives arrived to celebrate Lyla's big day we did a cake smash photo shoot (see the photos at the top of this blog post). The cake was provided by Cheryl at Cake Junkies, she was also doing the main birthday cake so knew that Lyla liked owls.

After the cake smash we got a variety of more documentary-style photos of Lyla with her family and friends:

She then had a good tuck into her main birthday cake.

The remains of the cake smash was then left to the dog!
